Pumpkin spiced everything…It’s Fall y’all! Fun things to do around the Triangle

I absolutely love Fall…chill in the air and the trees turning bright red, gold and orange, college football, pumpkin spice, and kids headed back to school. And even though the temperatures haven’t quite cooled down yet and the leaves are just beginning to change color, I am eager to start tailgating before football games, enjoying fall festivals and planning what delicious new fried food will be at the NC State Fair! I wanted to share some of the fun things to do around the Triangle as we head into this beautiful time of year

This isn’t everything going on but it’s a good start to get you out experiencing some of the fun things that the Triangle area has to offer!

The Hopscotch Music Festival Sept. 5-7

Hopscotch is a fun filled, three day music festival with over 120 bands performing in 11 different venues around downtown Raleigh. Celebrating it’s 10th year, this very popular local festival offers music in almost every genre you can think of—rock, hip-hop, metal, folk, electronic, experimental, and more. This years headliners are James Blake, Sleater-Kinney, Chvrches, Phantogram, Little Brother, Raphael Saadiq, Jenny Lewis, Kurt Vile & The Violators, and more. SPARKcon Sept. 13-14, Downtown Raleigh, Warehouse District

SPARKcon is a weird, artsy, wonderful event for the whole family described as being THE Triangle’s Creativity Festival. It’s an “Open-source event, “FOR THE COMMUNITY, BY THE COMMUNITY” that everyone can join in and show off what they can do. Experience the unique talents of more than 2,000 artists including events focusing on dance, fashion, music, film, food and more. Doesn’t that sound awesome and something you need to round up some friends and family and go check out?!? https://sparkcon.com/

Savor the Triangle Sept. 18, NC State Fairgrounds

Savor the Triangle is a delectable culinary festival that provides a chance to taste many of the area's most popular restaurants…all in one place! It’s a fun night out for anyone who wants to taste what the Triangle has to offer and portion of the proceeds to benefit Duke Children’s. Enjoy specialities from local restaurants and breweries like The Pit, Locals Oyster Bar, Sitti, Relish, Bond Brothers Beer Company, Gonza Tacos y Tequila and many more. BugFest 2019 Saturday, Sept. 21, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences

BugFest is a wildly popular annual event for the whole family. And it’s free! There are over 100 exhibits, crafts, games and activities, both inside and outside the Museum, all dedicated to the fascinating world of insects! And if that’s not enough, show off your bravery by sampling dishes prepared by local chefs featuring bugs as a major ingredient at Café Insecta. YUM!

This years featured insect: BEETLES!

College Football! Fall

The Triangle is home to numerous colleges and universities including the 3 local biggest historic rivals: North Carolina State University in Raleigh, Duke University in Durham and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill . Tailgating: to host or attend a social gathering at which an informal meal is served from the back of a parked vehicle, typically in the parking lot of a sports stadium before a football game, is a very popular past time here is the City of Oaks and one that we take great pride in preparing for! We are a community of hard core sports fans so be prepared to choose your team affiliation wisely, it matters!

Enjoy and I’ll be back with more!
